trading treats tuewednesday

Yes I know. This is late. But I am having problems getting everything done.

My treat today: Old, but Good, Friends.

My good friend moved to Seattle several years ago. But right this second she is in Utah, and today she stopped by the house to say hi.

It was so great to see her. And I'm not just saying that 'cause she reads my blog. 'Cause she doesn't.

Visiting with her tonight was just like it was when she lived two houses away from me. It's nice to have friends like that -- where you can just pick up where you left off.

And she was very polite and listened to all three kids plunk away on the piano.

And,

And,

And . . .

She brought me yard waste for my front porch decorations!

Yard Waste? you ask.

Yes, yard waste. At least that's what people in Seattle have the audacity to call holly. 'Cause holly is just another shrub in Seattle. But here in the desert, it's a joyful holiday decoration.

Go ahead, you can sing it: "the holly and the ivy . . ." That is, if you know the words. Which I don't.

But, behold, my rusty red wagon:

Joyful, indeed!

And triumphant!

What's your treat today?

yeah for a visit from Debbie!!! We love our friends like that- as a matter of fact, we just spent 10 days in paradise with our friends like that. Oh- and not only is holly unappreciated in Seattle- but blackberry bushes are the bane of their existance as well. Go Figure. My treat would be great friends who are chosen family.

I didn't realize you liked yard waste that much. I'll make sure to bring some over this weekend.

My treat is sleep...something I am a little unfamiliar with at the moment, but I am waiting in breathless anticipation for our reunion next week.

Your wagon is so cute!
